A message of thanks from Lady Elsie Robson, Sir Bobby’s widow and trustee of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation

Dear Supporter,
My husband was wholehearted in everything he did. Once he set out to achieve a goal he was committed to making it happen – and that’s just how he was with his charity.
The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation was launched after a request for help to raise an initial target of £500,000 to equip a cancer trials research centre. Incredibly, this was achieved in just seven weeks and in typical fashion Bob wanted to improve on that total and do more for others fighting cancer.
He was passionate about the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and worked hard during the last months of his life to ensure its ongoing success. Today, with help from wonderful fund-raisers and Patrons including former Ipswich Town captain Mick Mills, my family and I can continue to fulfil his ambitions.
Bob firmly believed, as do I, that working together we can help the experts who are seeking new and more effective treatments for cancer and that one day we will overcome this terrible disease.
Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough Auction and Ball, in aid of two fantastic charities, brings us one step closer to achieving that goal and I am very grateful for your support.
Thank you.

All of the players are delighted to support this wonderful auction and ball in memory of Sir Bobby. We are so pleased to celebrate his life here in Suffolk where he made his name. This event is a great way of reminding people of the way he made Ipswich into one of the best teams in Europe, while raising money for a good cause.
